SESSION THREE – Political visions for a transformative future

European Parliament election will be held in spring 2024. The election manifestos – which the parties have already started to develop – will set the stage for EU environmental policy and climate action in the coming years. Depending on which parties will dominate the next European Commission, will it present another ambitious package of legislation, strategies and financial instruments to accelerate the transition, a European Green Deal 2? Will the parties in the European Parliament strengthen legislation, close gaps in regulation, set more ambitious targets and support measure to speed up implementation? This session will bring together representatives of the political parties present in the EP to talk about their visions for the future. How do they want to address the challenges we face and contribute to a sustainable future? Are they showing leadership for a new package of ambitious legislation and measure, a European Green Deal 2?
